2022 Volunteer of the Year

Please help us congratulate Christy Thomas on USO Rota’s first ever, 2022 Volunteer of the year!

Christy began volunteering with USO Rota in August of 2021 and has been an impeccable asset to our team. Throughout the year, she has supported the USO in over 40 events assisting over 5,000 active-duty military and their families. One of Christy’s favorite events to volunteer for is our early morning Cup of Joes and all our expeditionary work. She loves the opportunity to ensure sailors days start off on the right foot and enjoys making their time here in Spain enjoyable.

Christy is also an amazing Center Representative. She has volunteered for over 75 shifts and has become a warm smile for those who visit our center. No matter the task, Christy is always willing to lend a helping hand. Whether that means driving to Moron, helping with organizing our storage, or facilitating events, she is willing to do whatever it takes to keep our mission moving forward.

As a military spouse for over ten years, Christy’s favorite part of volunteering with USO is the ability to pay it forward to our local community. She states that she loves bringing a piece of home to those who are living overseas.
