Volunteer of the Month - September 2019
Please join us in congratulating CE2 Javier Lara as USO Rota’s September Volunteer of the Month! Javier has been a volunteer since March of this year and has already accrued 43 hours, with 23 just in September alone. Both he and his wife have assisted with multiple community events, such as the Teen Amazing Race, USS Donald Cook Snack Attack, Seabee Bingo Night, and Fresh Water Washdown with the Marines. Javier doesn’t mind doing whatever he can to support and help: managing the finish line and timing of the race, dressing up as Cookie Monster for the snack attack, facilitating and calling the numbers in bingo, and preparing and setting up for the washdown. Special shout out to Javier’s wife, Yoselin Almaraz, for accompanying Javier on most all of the programs and pulling in over 14 hours herself! Thank you both for your hard work and dedication. #BeTheForce
