USO Rota's September Open House: Explore with Us!

In September, USO Rota warmly welcomed service members and their families during an exciting Open House event, offering a unique opportunity for the Rota community to become better acquainted with the center and explore the diverse range of services provided. During the daily Open House, troops and their families had the chance to discover USO Rota’s newest in-center activities, including Movie Tuesdays and Gaming Thursdays.

*Weekly Activities *

Every Tuesday, we played captivating movie marathons showcasing staff favorites at USO Rota, with complimentary popcorn for all attendees. Gaming enthusiasts were treated to an array of options on Thursdays, with the latest on PS5 and Nintendo Switch, classic board games, and card games all at their disposal. This month, service members stopped by during breaks and lunch hours, engaging in friendly competition with USO staff and volunteers.

*Family and Furry Friends *

Families were encouraged to explore USO Rota’s newly improved Family Room during Arts & Crafts Hour. This dedicated playroom allowed children to immerse themselves in imaginative play with a kid-sized kitchen set, express their creativity through coloring, construct towering structures with giant blocks, or simply relax with their loved ones. Even the four-legged friends had their moments of joy with Canine Hour, hosted twice this month. Pets relished lively playdates in front of the Air Terminal and indulged in delightful doggy treats, always available whenever pets and their owners passed by USO Rota’s center for flights.

USO Rota was thrilled to witness the presence of service members and their families actively engaging in the various services and programs offered. At USO Rota, the commitment to enhancing the lives of the military community remains steadfast.
